Any time someone sees my personal computer setup, I always get the question, "why do you have 6 monitors?" Well, yes, I am a bit of a gamer, but I only game on one screen (the bottom middle 27"). I have 6 monitors for the productivity benefits it provides. While working on a website for a client, I decided to record a short time-lapse of my coding process. Throughout the video, you'll notice I will utilize all 6 monitors. One has YouTube videos on it (as I almost always have videos playing while I code), but the other 6 get used for different things. I've found that this setup does allow me to work faster, as I can have multiple things open and I don't have to hunt around on my task bar for items that I need to pull up quickly, I can have them on different screens and either look...

Just a few tracks from games and a movie that I've found to be excellent to listen to while programming. I could have expanded this mix by several other tracks from Deus Ex, but tried to keep it around the hour mark, which I've found help me pace myself during programming/study sessions. You should check out the complete soundtrack to the others (Especially Deus Ex Human Revolution and it's ambient tracks. Was just recently that I found some of the others which I used when editing this video lol). Note, I tried to have the tracks progress in a way in which projects sessions go for me. Beginning, awe at what lies ahead. Mid, calm, slow and deep concentration. Ending, well, a bit up beat to match the feeling of excitement when I've made progress on something that's given me a difficult time ...

If there is one truth in this entire world is that day after day, things are getting more and more automated. Manual tasks are being replaced by robots at the speed of light. We, as software developers, play a big role in this process. We create and develop automation processes so we can replace manual tasks and, then, save time and money for whoever hires us. But... Have you ever stopped to think that we can be replaced as well? We are not immune to this replacement. Day after day, computers are evolving and they're becoming more and more intelligent. Bill Gates said recently that, soon, there will be no need for programmers. But... Is it true? How much truth can you extract from this sentence? Are we all going to be obsolete in the future? Why I use 6 monitors (web development work)

I've found that this setup does allow me to work faster, as I can have multiple things open and I don't have to hunt around on my task bar for items that I need to pull up quickly, I can have them on different screens and either look at them or grab them quickly and move them to a better working location. Yes, I know it is excessive, and frankly, I think it is worth it. The monitors were all bought at various times over the last 4 years, I spread the investment out over time, and I purchased the 6 monitor stand because it was a good deal and provides a a very nice work space. If you have any questions about my setup, or how to create something similar, please feel free to ask in the comments down below! Thanks for watching! ___________________________________________ Keep up with FraxTech Around the web: Blog: http://ismygeekshowing.wordpress.com/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/FraxTech Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/fraxtech Web: http://www.fraxtech.com/ Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/101749728@N05/ Credits: Intro VideoLoop 132 by http://movietools.info/ Intro Music – Backline1 by http://www.meejah.co.uk/ Music - Dark Step by Silent Partner via the YouTube Audio Library

Ending, well, a bit up beat to match the feeling of excitement when I've made progress on something that's given me a difficult time for a while lol; We all know the feeling. Also as a note, as the title says, concentration \ programming. So ultimately, you can sorta consider the programming part as a "subclass" of the concentration superclass (if you will lol). So, any work or studying involving heavy concentration (and probably computers ;), I hope that this may help. And there will probably be more vids ("subclasses") of the concentration class to come themed at other types of stuff that I've used. Oh yea, If you'd like me to have an expanded version of a single song in this list, please let me know in comments. I've used the youtube repeat function quite a bit on single tracks for sessions also so that may help you with your work. Sometimes one track is needed for a while. Whew, long description lol Sorry! Anyways, hope you enjoy. Top 6 best laptops for developers, programmers and coders. Chosen by price-performance: 1. Microsoft Surface Book: http://amzn.to/2mPnhUX (Amazon) When it comes to development, heavy programming and coding, with all the multi-tasking, and different software we have to use, we're primarily looking for something with a fast processor, good amount of RAM, SSD storage and a good quality keyboard. Depending on exactly what kind of job you're up to - especially for game developers, software engineers and/or web developers doing the design stuff themselves, also a dedicated graphics card comes in handy. Microsoft Surface Book has it all. It's an incredibly fast, all-around machine, capable of a ridiculously high amount of multiprocessing. While it may seem a little bit pricey, the quality it offers is definitely worth it. Some folks didn't believe Surface Books at first, but with this model, Microsoft nailed it. Intel Core i7 (2.6 GHz) 16 GB RAM 512 GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M 2GB GDDR5 13.5" PixelSense Display (3000x2000px) (Surface Pen included) 2. Apple MacBook Pro MLW72LL/A: http://amzn.to/2mTOExT (Amazon) Not only Mac's are a good choice because of their durability and quality, but it is also a necessity if you're going to develop anything for iOS. While as a work station MacBook Pro will be a better choice, you could also consider the more budget friendly MacBook Air, coming next.. 2.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz ) 16 GB RAM 256 GB SSD Intel HD Graphics 530 Retina Display: 13.3" (2560 x 1600px) or 15.4" (2880x1800px) Four Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports Mac OS Sierra 3. Apple MacBook Air MMGG2LL/A: http://amzn.to/2o3KGD9 (Amazon) The lighter and more affordable MacBook Air. Great option, if you're constantly on a move. It's battery's life is truly impressive. 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 (Turbo Boost up to 2.7 GHz) with 3 MB shared L3 cache 8 GB of 1600 MHz LPDDR3 RAM 256 GB PCIe-based flash storage Intel HD Graphics 6000 13.3" LED-backlit Glossy Widescreen Display (1440 x 900px) Up to 12 Hours of Battery Life OS X El Capitan 4. ASUS K501UW-AB78: http://amzn.to/2o3PisR (Amazon) Now, this particular laptop is like made for programming and coding work. Skylake processor and 512GB SSD - yes! And a big highlight is it's super handy and quiet keyboard. Not to mention, that overall Asus is a well loved and trusted brand. Skylake Intel Core i7-6500U 2.5GHz (Turbo up to 3.1GHz) 8GB RAM 512GB SSD Storage NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 15.6" Full HD Screen Up to 6-hour battery life 5. Dell Latitude 7000: http://amzn.to/2msdloT (Amazon) The Dell Latitude 7000 series are quite popular lately. There are different versions of it, this being presented as an entry level gaming laptop, but how can you say no to the 4GB GeForce? Only if you're looking for something lighter with a longer battery life and don't do anything graphic related. However, I chose the functionality from the work-power perspective for this top. Its quad-core processor is another big plus. Intel i5-6300HQ 2.3 GHz Quad-Core (6M Cache, Turbo up to 3.2 GHz) 8 GB RAM (Max Support 16GB) 256 GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5 15.6" Full HD Display 6. Acer Aspire E5-575G-53VG: http://amzn.to/2o3WYLL (Amazon) Yep! The best budget laptop for developers, programmers and coders. You won't find other offer with those specs for that price. This is how the Acer is keeping up - purely by giving away their stuff so cheap, that it's a serious option, if limited by budget. Very good laptop for programming students. Intel Core i5-6200U Processor (Up to 2.8GHz) 8GB DDR4 RAM 256 GB SSD NVIDIA GeForce 940MX 15.6" Full HD Display Backlit Keyboard Up to 12-hours Battery Life --------------------------------------------- This was the Best Laptop for Delevopers Top 6 - Best Laptops for Programming, Coding and Development (2017) --------------------------------------------- Music used: TeknoAXE - Yellow Jacket Revenge: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfL1DBqqwIY
